"'Thank you' hardly seems enough" – Mary Amba, Gympie

When Mary Amba moved into her new Habitat home in Gympie, Queensland, she was struck by her new found sense of security.

"The promise of a much brighter and secure future means greater peace of mind for both my husband and I, while the children know that there will be no moving and uncertainty about where they will be in the future."

Mary says that the project has taught her about the generosity and spirit of all those involved in the project. "It is truly fantastic to know that there are so many wonderful people in our community - people who give so freely of their time or donate so much to help others."

Perhaps the only drawback for Mary has simply been finding the right words to express her and her family's thanks.

"Every time I've seen people giving of their time, knowing that it is for me, a person they don't even know, I am overcome with emotion. ‘Thank you’ hardly seems enough."

Meeting the needs and interests of our people, customers, the environment, shareholders and the community is a balancing act that we’re working hard to get right.
