The Cancer Council Australia works with Cancer Councils in each State and Territory to undertake cancer research, prevent and control cancer and provide information and support for people affected by cancer. One of the ways in which the Cancer Council provides information and support is through their "Working With Cancer" resource to help patients, carers, survivors and their colleagues, either while they're working, or during the return to work. Many cancer patients continue to work throughout their treatment and recovery, just as many of those caring for someone with cancer also continue to hold down their jobs. And sometimes it's hard for colleagues to know what to say or how to help. "Working With Cancer" was developed in association with employers and people diagnosed with cancer. It is suitable for workplaces of all sizes, and includes case studies, handouts and workshop materials. The resource is available at www.cancercouncil.com.au/workingwithcancer, or alternatively you can call the Cancer Council Helpline to order a printed copy on 13 11 20. |
